There are over 100 species of Othonna coming mostly from the areas of South Africa where it rains in winter. They vary in size from shrublets to pachycaul trees. Some have underground tubers, some are caudiciforms, there are a large number of Othonna to enjoy in one's collection. Most Othonna species are winter growers and are more cold hardy than other South African succulent plants.

Othonna species are rarely offered in the market place. At this writing only four items are listed in the entire ebay.com universe. Of those listed only one is a live plant, two are prints, and the last listing is for Othonna seeds. With orver 10,000 plants that have passed through our nursery in the past 10 years we have only encountered a hand full of varoius species of Othonna.
